Met up with gklug today after the snow storm. After trudging through 6-8 inches of snow the first site was a total bust. Luckily we had a back up plan. After a few short minutes at the second site I found these four ladies within 20 feet of each other. image.jpg

I don't suppose being in North East PA. you would happen to find a Denver mint mark on the reverse of the 1916 merc ? , but I just
had to ask ( before somebody else did !) Will - you scored some nice silvers !!!

Thanks Rich. Snow got wet and heavy quick. My arm was killing from the weight of it stuck to the coil.

Wow three mercs and a walker in one day. That's fantastic thanks for sharing and congrats on the success.

the back up plan paid off tremendously! congrats on those beauties

Wish my backup plans worked out so well! Man you killed it today, what a great Silver day, love those beautiful ladies. CONGRATS, sorry no d on the Merc, about like finding a needle in a hay stack.

I saw the snow outside, stayed in my underwear and made nachos. I'd had enough hunting frozen ground the last few weeks and the snow was the last straw.

Perseverance pays and apparently pays about $.80! Lol. Congrats on the big silver and the beautiful ladies.

Happy hunting

I hear ya Scrappy. Fighting the frozen ground is definitely frustrating. That's why I usually head for the sites in the woods. Plus there's no chance of running into rattlesnakes and copperheads.

That's Awesome!! My last hunt we had patchy snow maybe an inch deep with green showing in other areas. We hit a small front yard and at first I avoided the snowy areas. After the open areas were done we started hitting the snowy areas. I couldn't believe how the snow made no difference for hits. It was only a light coating though, I couldn't imagine 6-8 inches of snow. That's dedication and for it to pay off with 4 silvers, Sweet!!

Congratulations on the silver finds.
