Metal Detecting
Went to my favorite field (the one where the old country store once stood) on Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect and the soil conditions were great for detecting. I'm trying to hit this field hard before the farmer plants his corn crop in the next few weeks. I tried to work it at a slower pace and from different angles and it paid off. My finds were: 1 Merc Dime (1924), 1 Buffalo Nickel (no date), 4 IH cents (very rough, barely recognizable), 1 wheat cent (no date), 1 holed copper coin but in such bad condition I couldn't ID it, several lead seals, and other bits & bobs. It was a great afternoon to be out and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for looking ~ Jimmy

Looks like a good hunt. Man, that soil is tough on coins. Must be the fertilizer.

I was going to say that, usually when coins (copper) posted from over there :icon_scratch: they normally come out quite nice, more like the copper coins found here, still a productive hunt thoug :thumbsup:h
