still no gold
hit a spot i havent been to since 2019
I used to hit it out far since there are a lot of locals that live with in a few miles of this place that pound the shallows.
Few yrs ago - I got here at sunrise and like normal walked out as far as I could at low tide - that day I worked out
chin deep for about an hour and all I was getting was fresh lures and sinkers - they moved the buoys in due
to shark sightings over the last like 4 yrs so no one is swimming out far anymore. I had done a good job getting alot of the deeper stuff out far. So that day I went in close and decided to see if the locals left any fresh drops - boy did they
...that hunt made my top 10 best days (I will post a pick of finds from that day for newer people here that prob never saw them) - Well Monday morn I did same thing - went out far at low - this time I wasnt even getting fishing stuff - think the guys are hunting out farther now - so once again I hit the shallows - first signal was a crusty silver band - was surprised - looks like its been there awhile - dont know how others missed it
it was in like knee deep water. I hit a few coins that have been there awhile too. The next ring was another surprise
- was hoping it was rose gold but its marked COPPER and has a makers mark. Not to far away I got a weird signal - when i checked it in ID mode...it read mid to low - not very promising on the CZ. It was in solid rocks and took some work to get it out.
When I got it out in had rocks stuck to it and a little crust and thought i had some sort of lure but as i pulled it from the scoop and broke it apart i could see it was a ring - - a tungsten ring - thought it was weird that there was stuff stuck to it but it all came off . People started to pour in and figured I head out - Got a faint reading...fanned some sand away...signal got louder...scooped and hit some rocks and had to do some wiggling to get my scoop in - was surpised to see another slightly crusted silver ring in amongst the rocks in my scoop. Guess I should have gone to Dom.Rep. with my GF to get some gold :tongue3:

one of my better days there a few yrs back
platinum, 18k, 2 - 14Ks, 2 - .925 rings, sterling bracelt and a titanium band
theres a handful of guys here that wouldve shat had I mention the spot these came from
all in from waist deep - maybe about a 10 yrd out by 40 yrd long area
the next day I went back down a little farther and got another large 14k in ankle deep and huge tungsten

Congrats on the 4 rings, even though there wasnt any gold like you were hoping for. And your still finding rings that have been there for a while, good to find what others missed.

Nice saves! I like the copper ring!!

Nice work casper....seems your getting wet these days more and more...congrats !!

had a dive boot full of bloody water though at the end of the day

I love finding crusty silvers like that, imagine how many others missed them. Great hunt.

That pic was out of the pouch
after breaking the stuff off the tungsten - no other cleaning - you can still see a little crust on inside the tungsten

Hey, I’ll take a four ring day any time!

Well done getting the goods. I haven't been out in almost 2 years, maybe I gotta break the bad habit of not going. Good to see you're getting out, best of luck!

Casper-2 …good job again on your recoveries….take care out there

All the best next spin.
I don't know what MD that have been used VLF or PI?

Great ring hunt! All the best on more goodies & less blood in the dive boot!
