To all .... Ole' Dave ID'd the last post QUICKLY. Let's see how he does from this country (China) on the first 3. Left to right in pairs is the front/back of the first 3 coins. The last one I just wanna know if it's worth a nickle or not...?

This box we acquired had notes and coins from all over the world... but thus far no real "treasure" has been found.

Thanks to all who help.... Brad

Really? Your gonna try to trip me up with Chinese coins?
Peking Hu Pu mint, 10 cash, 1845...
Next one is Kiangsi Province, 50 cash, 1865-1890
Third, is a Manchurian Province coin, with a mint error, notice the cud on the sariff? That one is the earliest, mid 1700's

Nice finds thanks for sharing.

Oh, and the last one? I will give you a nickel for it...but it's worth maybe 20-30 bucks...

No, really, I was just making shiite up... It will take hours, but I do have a reference book, but they all look the same to me...

You got a good sense of humor guy....! When I read that first post back above I was absolutely AMAZED!!! Honestly, you got me good guy on those Chinese coins!!!! THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME TO ME ALSO!!!!!!!!! :occasion14: But I was ready to bow down and worship the coin gods that blessed you. Good post. I really didn't expect an instant ID of those Chinese coins which is why I posted them back to you.... :laughing7: I just can't believe the "grab bag" of notes and coins within this box.... Thanks, Brad

Ok, I do have the third China coin narrowed down to Szechuan Province, but I can't find an exact match...
The other two, well, I was starting to get a headache, looking at 1800's Chinese coins, 60 pages worth, hundreds of varieties and mints...crazy confusing...
So, I gotta tap out on these... Good luck with the ID's....
Thanks for posting them though, it had been a while since I researched Chinese coins, so please, no more.:laughing7:

I got one, 1851!

That will learn ya guy.... as us Tennessee hillbilly's say! But... that's it of the Chinese coins from the box. But I do have more.

Maybe you need to ditch the 1800's and go to B.C. :laughing7:

No....... limitools post went over your head!:laughing7: and were all laughing!! JKG!!

I know what you mean about looking those up!!!! NIGHTMARE!

I'll give it a shot tonight or tomorrow if no one dates them before then. I'm up for tapping in and the challenge!!
First? I have to find the book! You would think that would be easy since its 4 or 5 inches thick!!!!!!:laughing7:

I got an old World Coins, 1800-1899 book, I didn't bother looking into the 1900's book, as all his coins were 1800's... Now I need to know what hey are too...

if I remember right I ran into something really odd with those when trying to look them up in the past....Or maybe it was something else, I'm going to cheat and try to find mine that are already dated first and see if any of them match.:laughing7:

And limitool! Those are real treasures!! World coins are cool!!! Tons of history! I have a huge collection. Not really worth much accept for a hand full, but I wouldn't sell it! It's harder to get some of them than what they are worth. And the thrill of looking them up wondering if it is one of the rare years is like a treasure hunt! I like the history of some of that stuff....

Emperor KAO TSUNG
AD 1736-1795

reign title: CH'IEN-LUNG, AD 1736-1795

I believe that's your first coin, although I could not specifically ID the particular coin. No idea on #2. #3 Probably same emperor and dating as the first. I could probably do better at this but too tired to try.

Never had this happen before, but this joke must have backfired. I had an ebay listing finish last night & the paypal address from China was in Chinese.:laughing7: Even funnier when he or she translated it. The Post Office are going to kill me when they try & put it in their computer!
