With no sleep last night I went to the park early this morning a was having horrible luck. I told myself that I wasn’t leaving until I found something.....ANYTHING!!!

And then it happened :)))

This round ball is showing .64 cal at 358 grains. Is that a odd size? IMG_0012.JPGIMG_2443.JPG

Nice old relic! :occasion14:

You scored an very nice old relic. Mission accomplished. Well done buddy!:icon_thumright:

Maybe it is cannister lead with the odd size. Great work.

Nice musket ball, I really don't know measurements, I do know that a modern .50 caliber muzzleloader ball measures .490
Yours is pretty darn close to 69 caliber brown bess musket ball I guess?

I'd say musket ball. The .64 calibers were pretty common among American back in the day. We found a lot of the .64 at the 1777 Brandywine Battlefield once upon a day ago. Lots of folks think only .69's were made but there were many other sizes back then.

Definitely a 69 caliber round ball. All the ones I have caliper 0.64-0.66". Nice Find, Congrats!!

Nice find and way to hang tough till you got something :icon_thumleft:
