4-4-12 Hunt gets me another first...Pics added
I went back to the same area I hunted previously(where I got a merc and a rosie).I spent about 3 hours there right up till dark.It was slow and tough to dig as ground is getting more solid,plus area has a ton of roots to deal with.I was able to get my very first 2 cent coin(1864)"Best I can tell it is of the Large motto type".I wasnt sure what exactly I had at first.it was all green patina and crustedAbout the size of a quarter.My trusty red book definitely helped this time.I eventially saw the "2",then the shield,and then the date.I also managed 3 more Indian Head coins(1900,1902,1904).I also found what I believe is a suspender clip,another small shell casing(might be a .22),and 16 cents in clad.sorry no pics yet as I have the 2 cent and Indians soaking in olive oil.will try to get some up soon.
