I was off work today so I headed out to one of my sites to do a little digging. Along the way I saw a buddy detecting away, so I honked and waved as I drove past. I think he was too busy digging a target to hear my honk.

Anyhoo, I got back out to my ghetto site to pick up the hunt where I left off a couple days ago. There was a LOT of digging today. Honestly, I need to redo- the last half because I gave up on anything less than 3 inches deep. Tons of clad, wheats and one solitary silver to save the day.

At the end I counted up 18 more wheaties :o from this hunt (3 in the same hole), a 1953 Rosie, one more OK tax token and a junk necklace and arrowhead pendant. I remember those being popular about 30 years ago. The odd thing was that it registered as a nickle on the necklace, not on the pendant.

I only hunted a few hours today, the wind and temp were getting to me.

Nice dig-day! That pendant brings back memories..I think I had one in the seventies.. maybe still! I got mine from someone selling Avon products..no kidding it was in their catalog!. I'll send you a pic when I find it!.

Any better date Wheaties in the bunch? I dug a nice 31-D other day.

I don't really check the dates that close. I saw a 1913 which I think was the oldest for today. Truthfully, I generally just check for the wheat on the back then toss them in the wheat-penny bucket.

Nice bowl there! 8-) :headbang:

Great finds, have to love the bowl of wheaties. And yes that arrowhead brings back teenage or earlier memories, I remember the Avon lady here sold a ton of them to all us punk kids, back in the day. Still have it somewhere. HH
