The other day I hit the beach for the first time. Yeah it went crazy, but stopped when I turned the sensitivity down and threw out a coin. It worked! But the winds were crazy that day, didn't want some wave hitting the housing and ruining the machine. But it clearly worked in the damp saltwater sand. Not that I would do this again, gonna wait till I get the AT Pro. ;)

It won't improve with the AT PRO as it broadcasts in only one frequency, but would work fine in the dry sand. For excellent results in the wet sand you should use a detector that uses more than one freq at a time like Minelabs like a Sov GT, Excal. one of the CZ's like the CZ-6a or others. The White's Beach Hunter Id is also excellent.

Thanks for the info! ;)

At pro is a fine detector works just fine in saltwater and in water I do have one and I don't thing I will change it to anything else it can do what others can do with extra cost of 500 $

Remember the salt spray that is in the air, waves are not the only danger. Salt spray that is in the sir will go in any openings in controls like speakers, knobs, switches and so on.
