$300k gold found by hvac crew

Good that these guys were honest towards the home owners, but you think the home owners would have kicked these HVAC installers a few jars for finding the stuff. However, these guys get nothing for their discovery, and their company gets free advertising, in the end the HVAC installers are left with nothing to show for the deal.

This story really ticks me off.

I know.....kick a little back to the guys who found it

A little 'finders fee' would be nice. You gotta wonder if maybe they do give them something on the sly. After all, They did trust them to take it with them to show on tv. Unfortunately, I would be surprised if the previous homeowners didn't try to sue to get some of it.

What an interesting story especially with a happy ending like that as everybody got something good from it. The HVAC guys have a new high on their integrity chart, the homeowners have a new heater, some gold and an awesome story to share. Somebody hit a nice pay streak somewhere! The color in those jars is a thrill to see!......63bkpkr

Notice in the video how the man's boss used the situation to speak about the "honesty and integrity" of the COMPANY.... not the employee directly. This is what really makes me angry, it's one thing to not share the find, it's a whole other thing to not even give the finder his proper respect!

Hmm, for all we know, the installers either kept a jar or were given one...off the books ;-) that's what I would do..give them one as a tip.

What a great story of honesty and integrity. What a thrill it must have been to see all of those baby food jars filled with gold. The true owner of the stash must have died before he could cash his gold in. The new home owners received a pleasant surprise. It would be cool to know who stashed the gold there in the first place. This story reminds me of the gold stash in Vegas that was discovered in a home after the home owner passed away. You never know what might turn up in an old house, and for those of you that metal detect for coins and artifacts, these are the kinds of stories that fuel the fires.

All the best,

Lanny
