friends out there I had a day I would not even dream about today. I live in a very small village. We don't even have street names just the name of the village and house numbers.Over the past years some new houses have been built. There are 2 new houses and a maybe 1 acre pasture right behind. The farmers cut the grass real early this year and I thought it would be a good idea hitting this pasture before the grass gets too high again. The last few days I did the same in different spots with no luck. Lots of aluminum trash! Today I just could not believe what happened. I found 3 coins 3rd Reich - the material in that time was so poor that I can only read a 10 on one coin. I found a 1 Euro....that's gonna get me a beer - at least a cheap one from ALDI :-) I found a 2 Reichspfennig 1875 and.......1 Pfennig 1854...my first!!!!!!! - CORRECTION IT IS A 1834- 6 coins in 3 hours....I'll post pictures of the coins once they cleaned up good enough to take a detailed picture. I found a lead "headless" horseman, a button, a shoe buckle, lead seal, a ?????, 2 double slit roses (horse equipment) one has still some leather apron in it and a christian cross. I am especially thankful for the cross even if a person doesn't go to church much I have the feeling that no one should ever treat a christian cross as junk and throw it away. I am happy it found it's way to me. Being in that spot I started diggin' targets which I would usually disregard and go on. But there is almost no trash and some weak, not very consistant signals turned out to be a coin. I guess I learned a lot today. And the best of all...I could not even finish half of the pasture. I have at least another 6 hours to go and boy...I am looking forward to. This is a dream-of spot. I wish I went there before the houses were built but by that time I did not have a Nox 800 or any other MD that would do the trick.

Nice saves!!

glad you had a great time, you found some cool stuff which means you probably have more to find there

Horst the lessons you learned today will pay off down the road. Many times I will get a faint signal that might sound fairly good every third or fourth pass. If I am in a farm field or woods, I cut a couple inches of dirt off parallel to the ground with a swipe of my shovel and swing again. You would be amazed how many times the signal improves to the point you want to dig it.

Good luck on the rest of that ground

learning the Nox is like learning a new language or learning to walk...it takes time but the more I learn the more fun I have
Thank you all for your great input!

I like your style Horst! You know we have Aldi stores in the states now and there's one about 6 Mi from my home. I use it all the time for meats for parties and Holidays. It's a great source for feeding a large group of people. You've heard my favorite pilsner so what do they have at Aldi in your neighborhood?
Isn't it telling that a regimes that boast on their greatness issue the most valueless money? World wide and throughout time.

Great hunt and enjoy your Victors brew!

Horst, the best is yet to come! Europe is metal detector heaven. Thousands of years of Western Civilization history lies beneath your feet. My mother was born in Bamberg. I was there as a kid in 1973 when Bamberg celebrated their 1000th Year Anniversary. Please keep us posted on your historic finds!

Nice finds Horst. Keep up the good work!

Very nice finds! :occasion14:

I went back there hunting the upper part of the pasture.......trash, trash, trash. I don't know the reason why thelower part had very good targets and the upper part is so trashy.
