Picked up a Fred Bear Takedown Recurve a couple of weeks ago at a yard sale for the purpose of reselling on Ebay. I have had a number of Bear recurves in the past years and did ok selling them, with most of them bringing around a $100 or less. I had no idea about the takedown models as I had never had one in my collection before. Well it went to Ebay and pulled $300+, so a good return on the $30.
Keep an eye open for these. This one was a C riser and the serial number was in the 1800's. I was told that if it were in excellent condition by a prospective buyer that it could have went as high as $2000
Here's a photo of the bow and a photo of the riser to look for. Make sure that the bow says Grayling, MI on it as well.
