I found my first silver wartime nickel, a 1943 P and 2 1942 Mercury dimes to go along with 5 Wheat pennies. I thought the park I was hunting in was dry, but after last nights Large cent and 2 Indian Head pennies, I'm starting to think the park has a lot more to offer. Now the big question is, are there any really old silver pieces at the park?

There is older silver there! As long as its producing, keep hitting it. And when it stops producing, hit it again from time to time! Nice finds!

Nice coins...comgrats on the silver!

Congrats on the 3 silvers. I , not long ago found my first war nickel. I haven't found a buffalo one yet,but I rather find a nice shape war nickel than a buffalo with no date!

Nice finds, and congrats on finding your first war nickel!

I hit the area again tonight for an hour and a half before a thunderstorm chased me away. I was able to get 3 Wheats and some clad. One of the Wheats was at least 10 inches deep. I was hoping for a large cent being that deep. There is a lot of area to cover and I still pick up coins even where I have already been. I'll have to try again tomorrow!
