Could very well be one part of a mano and metate set of native grindstones. I would look for a large, flattened stone with concave grind marks in the area where you found this one. Sub 8-)

Ah. I agree, thank you. Its quite balanced and beautiful. I'm going to paint that little block that it stands on and enjoy it for the sculpture that it is at the very least 👍

I don't know. I've never seen a grinding stone/pestle with an asymmetrical knobby end. Except for maybe a hoof pestle... but this doesn't look like that either. maybe a nutting stone? I don't know... cool though. Smooth on 3 sides with two right angles. It does look like something.

It looks like it had been wedged between other larger rocks and current worked it back and forth until it came free,Probably all natural and worked by Mother nature.Very cool and I agree it will be awesome on the pedestal. Some rocks have to be worked by Mother nature otherwise we wouldn't have sand.

If it is an artifact, I'm thinking mano. I thought natural until I was the flat side.

Yeah but it looks like there was an asymmetrical knob at the end that got knocked off - that seems awkward for a mano, no?

please don't paint it
hmm... maybe a natural stain. The pedestal looks unfinished to me as it is.
I'm going to call it
"The Balance of Nature"
or
"Cock Rock on Block" haha

I agree and is almost word for word what my answer was going to be!
