These coins were included within the box of monetary notes I got in MI. last week and posted earlier in the "What is it Forum". Some of the U.S. coins included I looked up but there are so many different varieties I get depressed trying to figure them all out.

These 3 coins I believe are French. My eyes are getting worse even with a magnifying glass. The dates are 1853, 1854 and 1855. There Napoleon III coins. They all have a bearded guy on the front and an eagle on the back. Below the eagle two of them have the letter "A" (the 1853 & 1854). The 1855 has a "K" below the eagle if that means anything...? I haven't weighed them (can) and they are very thin.

So if some of you coin experts can help me out with these I sure would appreciate it a lot. I'd just like to know if there common like the notes I posted or one of these may be a collectable and possibly a rough value if any.

Thanks… Brad

They are French and are all 5 Centimes. Second coin is a 1853K, I think, and a slightly better date, but in that condition, is of minimal value.

Nice old coin finds, congratulations! The top one still has some detail. :icon_thumleft:

Looks like you have two 1853s and an 1854. Nice finds!
