today's finds were a hand full of clad and memorial cents. 3 wheat pennies 1914, 1940, 1944 A Bull Durham pendant, a sterling and red stone ring(actually found at same site a week or so ago) and a curious little pendant or charm or something. I got too carried away cleaning it. I Didn't realize it had 3 tiny letters at the bottom until I took the pic and looked at it on my PC. Looks like SEX maybe.

Best part of the day was when my Brother (john37115) plucked out a nice gold cluster ring. Yes, he kicked my arse again today. :o :D

Interesting finds Kirk,
Pendant thing is kinda strange isn't it.
You might have to find some way to get an edge on John,
maybe a misplaced tab under his coil cover will do. LOL

as always HH
Dan

Desertfox

Nice finds! That Bull Durham thing is a watch fob dating around the turn of the century. It was gold plated at one time.

I only know that because I found one about 4 months ago and researched it.

Howdy silverseeker, desertfox LoL, Tennessee-Joe and john37115 (Bro) I'm glad to know the info on the Bull Durham watch fob, Thanks. Y'all :D

Let me butt in here a little. A fob was either a chain or strip of leather that on one end carried a metal or some other item, and on the other end was a man's pocket watch. The strap or chain would hang down out of the pocket exposing the charm or other item, while the watch was in the pocket. When they wanted to check the time, they would grab the chain/strap and remove the watch. As wrist watces caught on, the pocket watch slowly disappeared, and long with them so did the chains/straps and the fobs. Hope this makes some sense. HH
