Larry and I went late Monday morning to meet up with a farmer that Larry got permission to hunt his land, he marked his land on the 1875 county map that Larry has. After we meet the farmer and he marked the map we went to see if we could find about where the old houses were, we got to where we thought one was and walked out in a PLOWED field, where we thought it was, it was not, we were off a couple of hundred yards, we finally found pottery shards, glass etc. We went and got our detectors and stating hunting, lots of signals, all bad...I dug a few trying to make them good signals, am I the only one who does that??. The house was on the 1875 map so we thought there should be some Indians., Could not find any. I finally got one good signal and about 4 inches down was a nice 1850 large cent. That makes 3 large cents in 2 days, I feel really lucky for be able to get them. We both gots lots of brass items but only one coin. I am sure we will return. Thanks for looking.......Lee

I would say you are lucky and the good stuff is masked under those ugly targets.

No your not the only one. I get plenty of iffy signals & I use my foot to scrap the lose mud off the surface & quite often the sinal becomes better & I find plenty of Roman coins this way.

You are right, I don't hunt with Brian much now, not because I don't want to, it's because he went and got...should I say it....A real job. LOL
I really like the F75, a lot of guys say it chatters...It might but I don't notice it much and it is great in trash, which there is a lot of at house sites. I am going to England in march, we'll see how it does there.................Lee

Nice Large cent Lee. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Keep hitting that site. There's bound to be more there.

Beautiful coin!
