Is it a good sign or does it just mean there hasn't been much activity or a detectorist who knows what they are doing have cleaned them up? Sorry, just thinking out loud....

No pull tabs is awesome. I went out yesterday for about 3 hours and found all the pull tabs, beer cans and bottle tops for the both of us Lol. Didn't find but 12 pieces of clad and one 1964 quarter.

Crusader, I thought about it too, but where I was was far away from where people play, etc. now, where I think more detectorists would go. The whole area has been a busy area since the 1600's. I found a still-open area that has not been urbanized, so I am looking for more historical things there. But please note, I don't only detect to find stuff, it gets me outside and moving :)

I don't just detect to find stuff, just like I don't fish to catch stuff, although I have forgot what its like to get nothing.
 

Is that a pulltab necklace in your avatar? If it is, you just might start a new fashion trend. lol
 

Thrill, yes it is and I have a couple in different colors. That is how I roll ;)

I share your pain, I went out yesterday to a spot in the middle of the woods (field, at least one mile from any modern road) start doing woods surrounding field, absolutely no targets. First target I come upon I dig, four double A batteries just under the leaves ( metal detector batteries?). I come out of the woods, go to the closest house (different property), that I was waiting for it to be a little later in the morning before I knocked on the door and knocked. A old woman comes to the door and tells me " no you can't detect here, my husband and son both have been detecting here for over 20 years" (probably there batteries, in other nearby property?) My hardest thing is finding untouched areas. The next two houses I go to, no one home. Ugh.
 

Well that explains it (no pull tabs)! The pull tabs are terrified of you! You can turn them into something useful!
 

A girl are you making anything new with them pull tab? Ground is to frozen here to find them even.

NOW I have to wait a couple more weeks GRRRRRRRR. This is what I woke up to today

I just blinged out a washer I found the other day, have not found any new pulltabs lately :)
