What can I say WOW. Started with the AT Pro first signal says VDI of 91 solid silver tone and 8" deep. Dig down 10 " and come out with my second ever Shield nickel it's pretty toasted but shiny on one side. I was disappointed new it sounded like big silver. Rescanned the hole and BANG 91 again pinpointed bottom of the hole and hit a 1899 Barber quarter that had the green mark where it was covered by the shield. Man what a 2 coin spill especially for Spokane. Used the Pro for another hour and a half maybe 27 clad couple of wheats that's it. Switched to the V3i and got a 85 VDI high tone and green freq at 5" I'm thinking silver quarter again, no but a nice 925 ring. Swung for another hour or so get a 86 signal high tone sounds like another quarter but then shows in the red frequency thinking junk but dig it anyway. Get a 1922 merchants 5 buck token? it's in awesome shape. Also got a gold and silver plated butterfly at 6". It seems both detectors are always trying to out do each other so I use them both. The Pro with the Big 17" NEL is heavy so when I tire I switch to the V3i. Showed targets as they were dug and semi cleaned still working on the Shield so that will be a while. Thanks for looking and happy hunting

Heck yeah shield nickel and barber quarter spill!!, greatness!

DANG MD NICE FINDS .

Nice spill. Love the quarter

Hello MackDog,

Congratulations on the productive hunt!

I use both (among others :icon_thumleft:) machines and they are very good at sniffing out the goodies! Each have there pros and cons, with the edge going to the V3i for its user flexibility and weight to the AT Pro.

IMHO, If you hunt a lot, consider the RnB Innovations battery pack for the V3i since this detector is a power hog. They are fantastic in the field, very economical and last for a long time between charges.

Thanks I have 3 battery packs and recharge after every hunt. But usually use the At Pro. But that will probably be my next addition. How long do they usually last you?

Excellent finds. Love the souvenir gaming token from the merchant's convention.

Awesome finds MackDog! WTG!!!

MackDog,

I have extensively tested the RnB battery packs (Minelab ML-3100, White's HP-3100 and Garrett Power Plus AT) and have found them to last very long, are lighter and recharge extremely fast.

Here is the result of my testing for the Garrett AT Series. This is the detector being used in the field, not a bench testing.

The AT Pro basic Settings; Pro-Zero, sen. max iron disc 12 and stock coil: 37.4 hours. NOTE: Little use of pin pointer (DD Wiggle), iron audio off and Grey Ghost NDT headphones.
Same Settings: 36.1 hours NOTE: frequent use of machine pin pointer, iron audio on and Grey Ghost NDT headphones.

I hope this is what you were looking for!

I know I wasn't asked, but I can answer the question.

I have two, and they last around 28-30 hours per charge running backlight at 1 with TXboost off. They start fully charged at 12.55volts and my V shuts down around 9.5 volts.

They hold the charge great in storage too. 12.55 - 12.45 after 12 weeks.

Nice hunt. I didn't see what coil was on the V?

I only use the U 13 even in high trash I run it in the mix mode stereo with tone ID'd edited to high tones for good targets. It's noisy but you can still pick out those sweet tones in the middle

Wow, awesome finds for sure! Those tokens are sweet! Plus everything else is great.
Idk how you do it with the nel big! I'm 24 and would like to say in decent physical shape and that coil really weighs down the pro. I used it a handful of times from a friend and damn...a hour or hour and a half max with that thing! Really start to feel it after 30 minutes lol. Would need to use a sling or something. I'm really liking the tornado I got better. Can do 12 hour hunts with a few breaks like nothing. But alright, best of luck out there and keep bringing in the goodies!

Hello Deft Tone,

You are spot on with the RnB HP-3100 for white's.

I tend to get a bit more or less depending on condition, pin pointing, screen brightness...etc. Using TX Boost and a High Brightness setting will knock off 20% - 30% off those numbers.

It is certainly a very good solution to the standard rechargeable pack or Alkaline batteries if you detect as much as we do.

I'm totally digging the opal ring! Beautiful. Congrats on your great finds. ~Lisa

Congrats on the great finds!!

Great write-up, I was thinking no way that nickel hit the 90s, there had to be something else! Lol

Way to go!

Couldn't do it without the DETECTOR BUDDY sling. The Big Nel goes deep obviously but the coverage is huge. It's great for grid ding, doesn't miss much
