Mary and I hit the oldest park in our area. This park has been detected since metal detectors have been around. All you can find in this park are clad and memorial pennies. It was the first park I hunted with my Explorer SE. Hunted it at least twice a week for a whole summer and found nothing but clad and memorials, once I did find a war nickel. I've seen many detectorists hunting there through the years. Mary wanted to try it out and I said ok. My hopes weren't high about going there. Using Park 1 default settings, the first 5-10 signals were clad and memorials and I was getting bummed. So I set the recovery speed to 3 and slowed my swing way down, after about 10 mins I heard a high tone surrounded by iron tones. Depth said it was 10+ inches and target ID was 30-31 so I dug it. At about 8 inches I found a 1903 Indian. Then a string of clad and 15 mins later I get a solid 13 nickel signal and it was pretty deep 8-9 inches. I found a 1944 war nickel. Meanwhile, Mary probably set the world record for most pull tabs found in one hole! She found 31 pull tabs in one stinking hole! Unreal! I had one last signal before we had to leave and it was a wheaty, not sure on the date.
