Hahaha, funny how you learn about things. Being a new digger, and new to this forum. I didn’t realize that mding and the marbles I was finding went hand and hand. I still need to read more about it. But after seeing the topic I had to post. But I found a marble the first day and didn’t think nothing of it. I mean I’ve found other things while digging. The second day I found another and I was like “WOW” what a coincidence. Then after the third day, what a trip, what’s the deal with the marbles. Like I said, I need to learn more about it. I just got to know if this is a coincidence or is there some kind of metal in these rocks? And are these guys anything good?

I like that green one

The green and red one is the good one. Congrats. Cheese will be along shortly to ID them.

I also randomly find them in MDing holes.

Cool! You must be detecting an old schoolyard, park, or home where kids played years ago. Those are old American marbles from companies that are heavily collected. 1940s and earlier. The green one is an old slag marble made probably by Akro in the first quarter or so of the 1900s and has some glass sickness from being in the ground a long time. The blue one is from Alley Agate...late 40s, and the green/orange one might be a Peltier, need to see the cut lines of the pattern to be sure. These don't have a lot of value but you're finding ones that come from the right gene pool. Keep on and you're bound to find one with value.

Yep, I found the green one in a park directly across from a old school. The kids still take recess there today. Your right about it’s condition also. It looks like it’s had a rough life. Thanks for the info. The time line really helps. Great, now I have something else to collect. Pretty cool that I can come by these mding.

Congratualtions on the nice finds! :occasion14:
