Well the last couple of hunts have been rather good to me. Found a bunch of clad as usual but also found a lot of other goodies.
The funny part are the crosses though. The first one I found in a park that I have been to a couple of times before. Made me jump a bit when it popped out... Unfortunately it is only a bauble.
The second one I found the next day on my first time trying a curb strip next to the park where I found the gold grill earlier this year. (Boy I can see why people detect them. Only got down a half a block in an hour...lots of targets.) The cross was actually the second target I picked up at the very beginning right after a bottle top. To be quite honest I think I might have leaked a little when that one rolled out of the plug. ...But again, only a bauble, not even gold plated. Just gold colored.
At this point me and my buddy joked that night when he saw it that the natural progression is that the next one should be real silver and after that a real gold one. Makes sense, right?
Well today I tried a new park and about 15 minutes into the hunt there it was. A 925 silver cross with chain. Found it at about 6" and the clasp was set so someone took it off to play soccer or something a long time ago.
This does put a heavy expectation on the coming Sunday morning hunt. Going to a new park that was built with the neighborhood in the early 1910's. Sampled a part of it last week and didn't even bother getting up off my knees. Never had to move more then a foot for the next targer. (almost $5 in 45 minutes....woohoo!) Now I just need to find my gold cross in that park....lmao...
Thanks to everybody and HH
