Thats a great looking coin, where did you find it?

Nice looking 3 center. did you clean it before you took the pic.....Matt

I have to say that this is a little pet peeve of mine, about a lot of the posters on this board. I mean,..c'mon people, do not show a picture of a rare coin, unless you can take the time to tell us HOW you came about it. Is that asking too much?

Great find there congrats.

Steveo, you must have more time than just stating what it is?
How did you clean it? Assuming that you dug it of course, we have no idea, found in a shop???

I agree........we need details!

Great find. :icon_thumright: Would love to read about the hunt.

That's as nice of a dug 3c as one could ever hope for. Those are low conductors to dig--especially if they are deep.

Congrats,

Buck

I don't know much about cleaning coins, but I have always been told a light brushing and not to polish.

I don't see any mention of this being a dug coin, and I have never seen a dug nickel coin (Jeffersons included) look like that even after cleaning.

I would love to hear how this coin was acquired.

Are you the Steve0 from Jackass? :laughing7: :laughing7: Nice coin SteveO

I look forward to reading the story about this find. Until then, I cannot really enjoy just a picture of a 3-cent piece. What were you detecting with if you were detecting and what kind of site was it found at? How deep was it and did you take any pre-cleaning photos? 8)

Haha, ok I'll play along... Nice find !! :laughing7:

Keep @ it and HH!! ;D

Sorry guys didnt know it was that important where I found it. I dont consider this a rare coin, but a nice find as they are hard to detect. I was accually hopeing to pull a gold coin from this site but it has not happened. The only other coins from this spot found by friends were 2 - 1864 2 cent pieces and a 1902 v - nickle. As for the three cent it is a water find and it was totally incrusted in black goo all I have done to this coin was rub the black off with my fingers when it was wet. What I can fiqure it is a old buliding spot now under water, and luckly I found the person whom owns the lots under water where I am searching. The best part of it was it was the first target of the day and it was a sweet little signal and luckly I was set to dig most iron targets. Thats probley why I found it and others did not.

Nice find Steveo thanks for the info! That's the best part the where, who, what, how etc Sweet coin!! WTG :headbang: :headbang:
