Got out again today and slammed out 3 Buffalo Nickles.

Well since I have already found my first Buffalo in my last post this year, these babies are just popping out of the ground for me.

My first one today was a 1927 that was about 2-3 inches deep.

Second was a 1929 that was less than 1 inch deep.

My third to my surprise was a little over 6" deep and at first I thought it was a penny becasue of my display on the Fisher F-75. I totally surprised to pull out a 1919 S. Buffalo Nickle (Semi-Key Date) Good about $8.00. This place is loaded with pulltabs, so that is what I was expecting, but that is not what I got.

Since it was a very trashy area I recently purchased the smaller 6" coil for the Fisher and I am in love with it and actually got in just in time for the clubhunt we had this month, because my other coil developed a short somewhere and only works when it wants to.

Enjoy the pics.

Like i thought, very nice...beautiful patina

The 1927 Buffalo Nickel must not bee too rare. I see alot of them on here, it's also the first buffalo nickel I've ever found.

Nice herd of buffalo's, are you using the 4H or 4 tones on the F75? Also these were found with the small coil? Thanks and WTG

First thanks to everyone for your comments.

Glenn, I always use 4H on tones and since my large coil has a short in it, all I have been using is the small 6.5" coil and yes all were found with the small coil.

I love that little coil, and have not seen much loss in depth either. It is a great coil especially in trashy areas.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info WaSaBi, I've been doing a ton of reading on the F75 and heard a lot of good things about the 4/ 4H tone mode. Good luck with the big coil repairs/ replacement.

Glenn the place that I hunted has been scoured with other hunters and I think having the 6.5" coil gave me an advantage in finding the three buffalos.

Hey Gumy nice to hear from you, been working a lot with new job. You will see me on soon.
Yes nickles can be very hard to find, but with practice it gets a whole lot easier. Plus nickles come very close to the pulltab range on my F-75, but I manage to distinguish the good and the bad, had to did a lot of pulltabsl to get those babies.
CYA Soon.

Great finds rob. Nickels are hard to find I think. Where have you been? Looking for you on XBOX.

Nice Buffs Rob!
I know what you mean about the small coil. I put a 5" coil on my Quattro, and the Indians and Buffs have started showing up.
I hunt a great deal on an old fairgrounds that is now a park. The small coil has been a killer. I haven't put on the large coil at all in the last 5 or 6 hunts. Love that little bugger!

Good Luck
