Hi all, I did 2 boxes of pennies last night as well as a box of nickels and are posting results today.
The take...
Pennies: 18 foreign- 17 canada, 1 bahamas. The canadian older coins are: 2 King George(1945 and 1946) (I usually average 1 per 5-10 boxes)
US: 36 wheats(average)--oldest 1911!!! (Amazing how old the coins you could find--- this is really gunky almost like it was dug up, but 1911 no doubt. Not clear on the mintmark.
This beats my oldest penny found on 12/28/11 (1912 wheat)...
Nickels- 41 pre 1940, a chinese coin(or other asian country, pardon my ignorance)... no silver, no buffalos.
Also a grease filled die nickel and a possible off center nickel.
**The grease filled nickel is on both sides. **
more boxes to search tonight. HH!
