Prizm IV Florian and I got out for about 3.5 hours today, he finally dug up some goodies and did better than I did.? Here are a few of Florian?s finds:
A compass found in two pieces. It?s about 3? in length.? He found the hinged part first, good thing as we probably wouldn?t have known what it was or to look for the other piece.? I suggested he run a tight grid around the hole and he found it about 5? away from the first piece.
A 1925 1 Mark coin a little bent but in good condition, I haven?t found one of these yet.
Then he found a small silver 1 Kreuzer dated 1764, his oldest coin find to date. Date at the bottom of the coin 17 1 64, the one in the middle is the denomination for 1 Kreuzer.
Last of his nicer finds, an interesting little copper ring with Jesus and cross, broken but still better than a bottle cap.? He also found a few buttons and a crusty swastika coin.? He had a real good day.
My meager finds, a lead seal and 3 musket balls, one still has the mold nipple attached if you aren?t familiar with it.
A flower pendant.
Two religious pendants and what I thought was a swastika button.? After cleaning it up, it turned out to be a swastika pin/brooch.? In poor condition but an interesting piece of history.? We had a good time hunting and I?m glad Florian the newbie found some interesting finds.? He is working on his detecting permit but we already have questions about the first form, different county and the part were they say they keep everything?? HH, Mike
