Nice finds on what looks like a beautiful day, congrats on the ring! Youve worked that spot pretty hard the past few weeks and have reaped some quite nice rewards!

Thanks !

& Yes I'm actually going to try and avoid the place till fall now.
even though a place can never be hunted out,
I do think I (We) have it covered pretty good & need to let it settle again.

Nice hunt, Jeff. That's an awesome ring. It's been proven you never completely hunt a site out, but sounds like you share a sentiment with me~~~you should stop hunting one once you feel comfortable with your finds until the desire to return hits you. If you're just going over a place to go over it, chances are you'll hunt too fast and just waste your time. I really listen to my instincts and that feeling.:icon_thumright:

I know the feeling of wanting to keep hitting the same spot repeatedly, especially when the finds keep coming in like they have for you, you always seem to find the good spots, im sure theres another one just waiting for you

ahh yes know that feeling way to well. My favorite town is 40 miles from me one way! The other day I logged 137 miles on my car in search for that perfect spot! it pays off when we do find em'

It's so hot and dry down here in NC I am wary of asking permission to detect in someone's yard for fear the plugs (even though I think I dig nice ones) will turn brown and look horrible. I don't know this to be true for sure since I've only been detecting since Jan. But it does make sense. Might have to dog a few in my yard to see what happens.

Jeff, I love the ring and that whole property you got permission to hunt. It's a great place.

Ground here is real Moist. not to the point of Puddles, but Super soft.
and as you can see , everything is Growing.

Bugs are in full force too

Hey, in your junque, jiggers and watsits, look I found one of those to...I believe it's a watsit...haha

Looking at that familiar architecture, Jeff.....I could wander from yard to yard for the rest of the year. I still say a bunch of us should get together sometime when the weeds have died down and do a TNet hunt at Centralia.
I see you usually show your finds the same way each time. Do you pan for gold or have you in the past?

What an absolutely beautiful piece of property.

Congrats on a rather successful hunt. I don't know how a couple of our pull tabs made it up there though, I thought we had a monopoly on 'em...

Ticks here plentiful here this year. I had to start spraying my socks and clothing with permethrin which works really well keeping them away. If they come in contact with your clothes it kills them. I don't hunt woods very often (too dang scared of snakes) but if I did I wouldn't venture in without pre-treating my clothing.

in my minds dictionary : Jiggers were useful at one time.
watsits still need ID
Junque was something but is broken now

so- that would definitely be on my jigger list, But also a watsit too at this point :laughing7:
the little hoooch-a-ma-jiggy inside makes me think it as more then just a cover.

I'm wondering if it's part of a lawn mower engine.
Or pool pump

DSCF0001.JPG DSCF0002.JPG

there was a pool in the yard at one time
not sure it's the type that would have had a pump though.

Cool you just found one also

I never even look for tics. When I'm out hunting I forget they even exist,
unless I see one & my mind finally kicks in and says
" Oh ! There is one " in which case it will either get flung , brushed , or walked away from.

This time out it was Gnats. was one of those days I wished I smoked so I could blow some smoke
in their tiny little faces.
(is it illegal to give a gnat Cancer yet ? )
I guess it's the time of year to pack & remember to use my Deet.

Snake ? I don't see them, or really worry that much about them.
I will wonder on occasion when trampling through Knee high Brush,
if I'm gonna finally find one, & what will I do ?
as I am not going to get down on my knees to go
go looking for something that Bites, to save it for an expert to ID or
even to see what color it is. so it would take an expert to ID the type of snake by Bite or blood test. if that is possible.

but at this point, I can't say I'm scared of snakes.

I won't touch them, But I don't particularly like touching any animal
other then women :dontknow:

I'm surprised the numbers of pull tabs on these 2 properties are so minimal,
considering if I cross a side street I'm in a carnival grounds

Beautiful area Jeff! Apple Cider Vinegar is a natural bug repellent that works great! But you'll smell like a salad! Lol!

No gold to pan here, I tried a Creek for 10 Minutes once to say to myself I did it.

And I panned some actual Gold on my Kitchen Floor :laughing7: (bags of dirt with a little bit in them)
but other then that no gold panning for me.
the Pans I have come from GPAA Gold & Treasure shows when they used to have them in PA.

I find the pans very useful.
I'll usually put my keepers in a pan,
add some water & swirl Like I'm panning,
drain & repeat till they are somewhat cleaner

Plus the back-round color seems to work well with pictures

And Yes I really want to get the Centralia again.
I couldn't get anyone to go along before this years Growth,
so I missed the opportunity again this year.

I'll let you know when we get something set up again
