Hi Jeff, nice finds. I've been cooped up in the house here lately, and I'm getting cabin fever. Hopefully I'll get out this weekend and hit a park and a soccer complex that's been on my list. the only thing that beats a bad day detecting is a good day, and it looks like you had a decent one. AA

Nice little haul there Jeff. Carnival and fair grounds always seem to come up successful. Every year means more clad deposited near the surface. :icon_thumleft:

Hi Jeff

new to the forum (which is wonderful) and new to detecting

question for ya---did you need to ask anyone's permission to detect on a fairground?
when you mentioned it I have 2 great fairgrounds near me and wondered if I can just park and detect?

thanks Karen

Welcome Karen !

Depends on the Fairgrounds.
Is it a Public Park Also ?
No Trespassing Signs ?

I Honestly don't Remember asking here.
it is a Public Park which is also a
"Carnival" Grounds & Public Pool.

First time detecting there The
Grounds Keeper showed up and
asked me if I wanted inside
the Pool to Detect, which of course I Did.

"Fair" grounds are Different.
Most are fenced in
and Permission should be obtained
If not used as a Public Park also

Not a bad day Jeff!! #1 you got out and #2 you found wheats!!
I was wonderin' what "carnival ground" you were talking about until I saw your last post, gotta be some silver hidin' there somewhere!!

Congrats!!

Had a Visit from some Man in his 80's while I Was there.
He told me he used to be The Ice Man in town. "Davis"
His words "now you know how long I'v been here ;D "
Anyway he told me I Should detect his Nephews property.
that he won't mind, But that's going to have to
wait till another time

He lives in the house alongside the ice cream shop...........I thought he was living with his son, not his nephew but I could be wrong!!
