Had a full day at the plantation again today. This husband wife duo picked up lots of buttons, musket balls, partial buckles and a nice cut Spanish silver. There are a few things we weren’t quite sure what they were but knew they had to be something good. It’s not always about how valuable the item is but sometimes about how unique it is. We had a blast today. Hubby even got a nice rat tail spoon. For those that do not follow my previous hunts at this plantation...The property dates back to the late 1600’s/early 1700’s. The plantation itself was built in 1701 and was once turned into a civil war hospital. It was burned by the British during the war of 1812 (inside of the home). The inside was then rebuilt and restored in the early 1800’s. In other words...lots of history there.

****Please feel free to comment and let us know what your ideas on these finds are. As I always try to remind everyone we are still newbies and are not always sure of what we’ve found.

Happy hunting everone!

I'm thinking you can spend the entire summer there and will end up with some more amazing finds!!! Very nice cut silver!!! Waiting to see that "gold" next!!!! :icon_thumleft:

I think the same thing. We only have maybe 2 weeks until they are possibly putting the house in the market :dontknow: it’s really sad because that family has owned it since the early 1800’s. Guess we’ll see what happens.

The Buckle is 17th C!

Awesome. Thank you. We love knowing what things are and the time period they are from.

Excellent finds! Sounds like an amazing spot to detect. That cut silver is quite nice!

crazy nice finds, hopefully you will be able to keep hunting there. Good luck

Thanks everyone :) We are hoping the same. It is a beautiful property right on the River. Been fortunate enough to be able to hunt it...on top of that its virgin ground-before us the family never allowed anyone to metal detect there. I only hope we are able to get the rest of spring to continue. We still have so much land left at this one property.

That’s a beautiful property that you’re hunting! That’s a really nice cut 2 reales. One of my favorite designs. The rat tail pewter spoon is a very nice find as well. Great 17th century shoe buckle. That’s some fantastic dirt. Best of luck in the future there. Hunt it while you can my friend

Congrats on the nice relics and cut silver! :occasion14:

Thank you. We are really excited about all our finds and what is believed to still be left to find. This is probably our 6th or 7th trip and we are still finding great stuff!
