That is a nice find! You have any other relics?

nothing worth showin, went back today and got this 2 or 3 feet from where i found the heelplate, and dug a few 19th century nails in a 30 ft radius. still has some of shoe.jpg the rectanglular nails in it.

how can i tell if this heelplate is really cival war? some of the 2nd corps went to danville after the surrender. and i found this 30 miles away from appomattox on the way to danville . just off old 29. a days horse ride is 30 miles so its a possibility they camped there on the way to danville. Had a few people say it was non military.

looks a lot like this one https://www.ebay.com/i/282777299809?vectorid=229466&lgeo=1&item=282777299809&rmvSB=true
