2nd Pocket spill this week. This time 1800's
Went out this morning with GOLDEN1 to a new spot we heard about. Ended up finding a better one in the same area. Was able to snag 2 "wheaties" from the first site. 1919 and 1930. The second yielded a nice pocket spill for me. First out was the 1877 CC Seated dime. This is my second 1877 cc Seated dime this week! Once again Carson City in Mass. Maybe they came from the same roll!
This one is in better shape than the first. I checked the hole again and was still getting a signal. One more shovel full yielded 2 Indian Head pennies that were stuck together. These turned out to be an 188? and an 1890. In the mean time, Golden 1 found a 186? "Fatty". His first. I dug up a few "eatin' irons', and then got a pretty good penny signal again. I kicked away the leaves and the signal disappeared
. Went over the leaves I kicked away and there it was. 1895 IH. Can't believe it was on the surface. Even for being on the surface, it was in rough shape. We only stayed at this site for about an hour, so we are headed back to it on Tues. HH Hogge
