Went to St Augustine Beach today with the wife. Almost a perfect day weather-wise, but dang that water was cold. The wife and I like to hold hands and jump the waves as they come in. We were jumping our last one when I stepped on something that felt familiar. I stepped on one Mother's Day of last year. It was tan and 6 1/8 inches. I was thinking.....please be another fossil and not an oyster shell. Well, luck on my side again! This one is about 5 7/8". I need to start playing the lottery.

very nice ! I wish there were Megs near me to find

What I can't figure out is why they fetch great prices and they seem to be pretty common down here. Especially the small ones.

Back in the 70's there was one for sale in a souvenir shop .
in Atlantic City.
was easy a 6" tall Meg for $100.00 I looked at it several times on my vacation.
Didn't want to spend the $100.00 :( :BangHead:

anyway Yours would make a Nice Banner .. hint hint
.

Nice tooth, I got 500 little tiny wee ones one year on vacation. Totally obsessed with the hunting of them. I would also think it would look great up there on the banner.

That one is a beauty, congrats. I didn't know that they were around St. Augustine, I have dove for them at Venice and found a few nice ones.

ZDD

Nice score! Did you hold her hand after or just the tooth? Lol

I would love to see the size of the shark it came from.. In a pic of course.. Good job.

Geez dude! How in the blazes did you find that?!? I've fossiled rivers, even sifted in the ocean for fun. Never one like that. You lucky son of a gun. Dream find of mine. Let alone at the beach! Ive never heard of someone finding a 6 incher in the surf!
