2nd Hunt gives the Captain an 'ole fashioned Can-O-Whup-A.....
Hey everybody, hope your Saturday hunts were enjoyable and successful!
Yeah, I just KNEW it would come back to bite me, just didn't think it would be so darn fast
Decided to spend some time with the wife (AKA Corporal Punishment) showing her the ropes on the Ace (I know, blind leading the blind 8))......while she was out shopping, I took a couple of new nickels to the backyard, stuck 'em about 4 inches down, standing on edge.......when she got home, she took the Ace out back and started looking --- yep, only took her about 15 minutes to score the first one.......at this point, we're headed back to the tot lot for her chance to even the score....
Got to the lot, she asked me to show her one more time what we were watching for on the readout....as luck would have it, about a minute in I got a solid dime 2" hit, and we were off to the races. Gave her the Ace, and let her at it - well, only took about 5 minutes, and she pulls her first real find, a nice shiny 1978 penny. I was just like a proud father
This gets her going, and only takes about 3 more swings before she gets a real hard hit, but pretty close to the metal support pole - gave it a shot anyway, and dang if she doesn't hit her first pocket spill......2 qtrs, 2 dimes, 4 nickels......and no pennies! Now she's excited....and I'm really pulling for her, maybe just not as much as before tho
About 4 more sweeps of the trusty Ace, another hard hit........and she pulls another pocket spill, this time 4 Spirit Mountain Casino Game Tokens! OK, enough is enough, I'm thinking.........at this pace, my mighty 21 coin day is pretty much in jeopardy
Well, this pretty much sets the tone for our second hunt, guys. Didn't get the Ace out of my wife's hands this time at all, she toured that lot for about 2 1/2 hours while I got to dig her finds (my portion of humble pie, I does believe ).
By the time this hiney-kickin' event was over, the Corporal had pulled 56 coins (29 pennies, 11 nickels, 11 dimes, 5 quarters) totaling $3.19, and the 4 casino tokens.......along with a few pull tabs and just for mastereagle, our FIRST ZIPPER PULL!! Note to all, Corporal Punishment is apparently in line for a promotion........she suggests Admiral Abuse , can't say I disagree at this point
Suffice to say that we are both pretty much hooked at this point -- most appropriate find of her day was the small plastic tiara, seen in the pic upper left - found it as we walked up to start out --- shoulda taken it as some kind of evil sign, I tells ya......well, for this day anyway, I tip my hat to the Admiral, she did us proud for her first real try - and I know I'm not going to hear the end of this for quite a while!
Here's the pics, as mundane as clad can be, but we're heading for our next milestone, our 100th coin.....not to mention the wilver & gold!!
Thanks for looking, hope everybody found what they were looking for today!
