I woke up early this morning so I could go hit a park that has produced lots and lots of clad. But my trusty Ace 250 was mostly finding pennies and a lot of pull tabs. I just kept on going, I woke up early to hunt, and regardless of what I find I was happy to be out and about. I was swinging by the swings when I got a jumping nickel signal (nickel to pull tab to all the way to penny). So I said, what the heck, I am sure glad I dug it!!!! I was just hunting in coin mode, so I am really glad that I looked at the monitor. Its a small ring, but its 14K!!!!

Does anybody have any idea what the blue stone in the setting could be? Thanks for looking...

I know the stone messes with the weight and in-turn the melt value, but I just wanted to show it.

Could be a saphire. I'd take it to a jeweler for a positive ID. Suweet find amigo

sweet find for sure on the ring, ask the jeweler, if its a real sapphire or lab grown, as alot of jewelry stores sell lab grown stones. which means enhanced color... either way nice find.

very nice job on the 14k gold ring! Yup those woodchip playgrounds are the best! I do not know why people tend to avoid them though. I always hunt them and I find the most coins!

congrats on the ring. i like the wood chips too but I havent found gold there.

WTG on the ring! I just found a sterling one today while re-checking the chips at a school playground..it wasn't there 2 weeks ago!

The wood chips are sometimes underrated..I always check them first when I visit schools before I take to the fields. I've found coins, silver AND gold in wood chip playgrounds..not to mention a Standing Liberty quarter this year and a Liberty Head (Merc) dime last year.

I can't see why someone would fit a lab sapphire into a 14 k ring, I bet it's real! Great find!

I was hoping that I would find another gold ring soon, I am still stoked that I did. Thanks for looking...

great find...I haven't had much luck in the wood chips all I find are pennies and broken zippers and pants buttons. Still they are fun to hunt in.

Congrats on your second gold!! small or not its a sweet find!!

beautiful ring...instead of melting it for the gold, take it to a pawn broker and sell it...

I will just keep this ring, its only worth $30 melt wise. The pawnshops would only try to give me $20 I bet...
Nah, I'll just toss it into the drawer with my other finds.
