29 coin day and an old ring?? Need help on that one guys/gals.

Ok I went out today at about 2pm because it was really sunny and warm here. I drove around looking for places to go, and settled on this little park in from of a museum. I found lots of clad 1.32 ( 56 cents in one hole ). I found this ring that I think is old and copper. It obvoulsly used to have some kind of stone in it. Any idea on the possible age would be greatly appreciated. I dropped my camera so i cant take pics yet, so a scan is the best I can do.
