28 mm 'George' Copper ??

Hi all,
I Cleaned up a crusty dug Copper,
was thinking just a Later GIII Halfpenny, Right facing bust, Ribbon pointing to the 'GE' but I see lettering to the right of the bust, looks like more than just 'III REX' to me.
Anyone think this is more than a George III
Got a pic of the Right facing GIII HP for comparison, Quite different.
Thanks for looking!

Re: 28 mm 'George' Copper ??

That's a cool find :icon_thumleft: I wonder if it could be a King George III spade guinea gaming counter? They are brass though.

There are a whole bunch of different varieties so if this one doesn't match right on there still could be one that does-

I see the Irish Old head George III but if you see extra letters I wouldn't rule out the gaming counters because there is many styles of busts and it could be one that just resembles the Irish one.

Here's an example of one I'm talking about. Similar to the Irish style. Now which token it is, that might not be easy to figure out. (maybe impossible with the little you have to go on)

Re: 28 mm 'George' Copper ??

thanks Bramble and Patch,
I'm seeing at least 6 more letters, 'UDIN' ? Pic 5, 2-3 oclock position,
I'll browse some tokens...
I began thinking CFT plated Brit gold, looking for a size match.
I'll work some more on this, I almost didn't even try to remove the 'cookie'
This one looked like there was no hope.
Recovered from the bottom of a deep pit blown out of the gravel by a barge prop,
the barge is still tied up nearby, I have a case of beer in my truck for when I see the marine construction workers again, I want them to make more of these
They are going around removing floats & other stuff I don't care to mention here.
Best digs to all! I'm back there today 5:30 -8 lowtide,
hoping for another Rev button, from our side this time :D
