I dug this today and have no idea. It was 12" down. It weighs 25 pounds and appears to be stainless steel although it looks like its been painted, but there are a few places where it is heavily scraped the shiney bare metal and its not rusted in those places at all. . It has 303 scratched into the side of it. It has the shaped pegs on two sides and is smooth on two sides. Its solid.

As I was pulling it up it crossed my mind it may be a property marker but it was not anywhere a property line or corner would be. At one point while digging it up I thought it was a brick of solid SILVER! Wish it was. IT was laying sideways in the ground.

It was located about 40 yards from a highway so its possible it came off of a trailer and bounced to where it ended up which would explain the scrapes/dents but being a foot down I wonder.

Ok guys, WHAT IS IT?

I wonder if it could be some sort of ground. That wires would have wound onto the projections and just was never used. Was it near any power lines.
