Oh cool!...yea, I wasnt trying to discount your find at all. Alot of times people get on here that are new ( did it myself...still do) and see things in objects nobody else sees. I can see it now that you pointed it out.

Good luck on this one! someone told me once about putting heavy cream on the coin and sometimes it will allow you to see things the naked eye wouldnt.

Of course you have tried side lighting it?? Any raised features will show up better than direct lighting.

You dug 30 of these and NONE have any detail? I don't think that they are coins.

That object looks too smooth and flat to be a 200 YO copper coin. Better pics with side lighting would help. Also show us the edge. Coins have rounded edges, especially old dug coins. If the edges are sharp, it’s not a coin.

Thx!

Edit: 24mm is smaller than a modern quarter. The only old copper US coin that size is a half cent. A colonial farthing could also be that size. It's not a 2 cent piece.

This is a good mystery.

lighting makes all the diilfference ! When it comes to trying to get even decent photos of coins..thanks for tge advice.. . took my time and made a small light and evenly lit , nice brite mini studio with stable ,adjustable cam stand. used a old brief case.. and a little duck tape.. any ways took the day off from work to get my fix and scored big.. it's too bad all these coppers, that I can see now!! are so poorly faded out ..but I'm more excited about the Rock's I found any ideas anyone ever seen these before anything similar? I have a bucket full to carry out this weekend.. the detail is amazing! I'll post a video of em. once I upload it. I can zoom in all the way and still get massive detail .. it's microscopic almost got to be Jewelers precision work on whoever created these sculptures or whatever they are..
