Reddielocks, I think what he is having problems with is that White's coils are completely enclosed and as such, air is trapped inside making it buoyant.

Diamondjim, instead of taping rocks try a plastic grocery sack with some beach sand. Lay it on top of the coil and tie it to the shaft with the handles. I used to run a 6000D and it was hard to keep it down, it doesn't take too much sand to counter the buoyancy and too much will cause you to work harder to swing with the added water resistance. Just a thought and BTW, I've even seen guys mount the control box on top of their head in case they ever drop the shaft or lose control of it. LOL So a pink raft is a better fashion statement. ;)

I've just been swampped lately...can't seem to get away long enough to get anywhere near the water, or get pics...

Knob thing that connects coil to stem not strong enough to hold coil flat while swinging in water, but we're making small concrete forms to super velcro to the coil. Take off for land hunt, easy to put back on. Sand in kroger bag may not work as well, these coils have the nice hole in the center...weren't the 6000 coils mostly solid?

In this case IDX breaks down in two places, one in the middle of the stem, the other right behind the pin point switch. The box and display part fits neatly in a bucket in the center of the pink floaty. I put the coil on a different stem with the cable running back up to the raft.

Now if I can just figure out how to get rid of the strange look on my face while I'm off in zen land swining invisibly under the water. When you're on land people can see you're doing something...concentrating...but with just your head above water it's just odd...this guy out there with a strange expression.

It's not the look in itself, it's the combination of the look and seeing your upper arm moving back and forth. ::) LOL
