lol i bet you were a sight out there ! people probley thought you were nuts ! But thats all in a days work.Does'nt the coil have a adjustable knob on the stem where the coil connects to hold it in place so it want float up?

Reddielocks, I think what he is having problems with is that White's coils are completely enclosed and as such, air is trapped inside making it buoyant.
Diamondjim, instead of taping rocks try a plastic grocery sack with some beach sand. Lay it on top of the coil and tie it to the shaft with the handles. I used to run a 6000D and it was hard to keep it down, it doesn't take too much sand to counter the buoyancy and too much will cause you to work harder to swing with the added water resistance. Just a thought and BTW, I've even seen guys mount the control box on top of their head in case they ever drop the shaft or lose control of it. LOL So a pink raft is a better fashion statement.
