Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Scored my first gold chain Sunday. This 19.6 gram 24" beauty is well made. Sorry the picture isn't great.:camera: It needs a good cleaning as it appears to have been in the ground 20 - 30 Years and I had some doubts until it was tested. It came up at a strong +20 on my MXT Pro with a 4x6 coil, and was about 3 - 4 inches down Reaching into the whole expecting another pulltab, this was certainly a grand surprise especially since I was working with a Headache, a sore left Knee and a sore right foot. If it wasn't for this phenomenal find, the hunt would have been dismal. The clad count was only up to $1.50 and I was heading home when I got the signal.

The excitement is overwhelming. This is my 3 gold find this year, slow year, but my absolute best gold find ever.
It's also the final installment on my upgrade to the MXT Pro
A Mere 6 days after my birthday, a belated present. :occasion13:

thanks for looking.

This is the best Hobby.

Wow congrats!!!
I've been looking for one of those lol

I'm sure that was a heck of a surprise and a nice payday!

Was it bunched up or straight out?
Bet she looked amazing coming out of the hole!

It will be a nice payday. I may couple it with the 14k Cob Pendant I found in February.

It was half bunched.

It came out of the ground filthy and it still is. I continually doubted it was 14k until today when I had it tested and had a link clean to expose the beauty of the gold. My wife insisted it was Rose Gold, which it certainly appeared to be possible, but after the link was cleaned, it's certainly yellow gold in need of cleaning.

I'll take my gold any way I can get it. Beat to death dirty, clean, white, yellow or rose. LOL.

Wow, that is a awesome Find!..Im still trying to figure out how necklaces read on my machine

Congrats on that.Iam still looking to find gold.

Very nice , The chain is a Birthday gift & payment for cleaning out pull tabs . Thank's and enjoy your BLING....

Awesome, then I suspect I have more gold coming. My coffee can with pulltabs is quickly filling up.

Nice find Dan, That is one hell of a gold chain. Makes me want to pull my MXT out of hibernation for a few hunts.

Sweet !!! To this day I have never dug up a gold chain ! I have found three , but were all on the surface and small . Congrats on a great find !

But, what are you doing about getting it returned to the owner? :icon_scratch: ;)

Looks like you need to be headed for home more often! LOL

Great find!

Great find!

Eagle Four-Eyes, I looked all day Sunday, Monday and today. No such luck finding the previous owner. But I tell you what I'm going to do, I'm going back to that spot as soon as possible because there where two other beeps I didn't dig. They could contain a pendant with the owners initials. :-)

I love heading home with an awesome find. Thanks for your tips and comments on Tnet.

Ha, I was thinking the whole time, "I wonder if Glen has found any Gold Chains like this". Thanks for all your tips RingMaster Glen. I'm really watching the low tones. And now that I got pretty much the cream of the crop for Gold Chains, I guess I can take that off my list and focus on more gold rings or some of the many many coins I have yet to find. Like a freakin Silver Quarter. Can't believe it's eluded me this long.

Rob,
I'd like to say I would trade you my chain for that 1877 Seated Dime you found, but I won't. My wife would kill me. LOL. Well, the MTX seems to have a knack for Gold, no doubt about that. When a rookie like me can score the good Gold, it has to say something about the machine. The silver is still elusive and I don't know if it's me or the machine, but that's my next mission, I'm prove depth detection. I'm not digging much deep stuff. I think my silver count would rise if I work slower like you do and spend more time working a weak signal.

I'm looking forward to that river hunt as soon as I have a Saturday open. You might just have to bring both your machines, because Gold could be present, I'd hate to be the only one taking some home.

If ever there was an appropriate place to discover lots of gold, it's Mariposa! Keep up the good work! :hello2:

Ah, Found my first 100 Paso coin at Carmel Beach back in the late 80's. Too bad I didn't keep at it, I'd be an expert by now. I'm still hoping Mariposa has a few Gold coins laying around. That's on the top of my list. HH

What a find! Congratulations and hope you find more. Don't know if my old ticker could stand a find like that, but I'd be willing to see!
