It’s been sub zero freezing the last 48 hours, -6 degrees and -40 wind chill. Finally heated up to 6 degrees and -21 wind chill. Had the afternoon free so decided to scout out another site in the park woods. Figured the ravine and woods would eliminate the wind, but still chilly. The Nox worked perfectly.

7 years and no Half Cent, then 2022 and this one is my third one. Crazy hobby. Cellar hole had 150 years of occupation, lots of targets. Fun hunt. Merry Christmas!

Great finds. Had to have been brutal cold. But at least rewarding to you for braving the elements.
Those numbered tags? I've found three very similar at a location in a tight grouping. Within several feet of each other, But have only guessed as to the origin and their intended use.
Do you know? Or could someone else give me a clue.
Again great array of finds.
Merry Christmas

Great site for targets, certainly a return is in store if it gets mild again. Congrats
Plowing snow today on the trails and the ground is soft still, but the foot of snow is the issue here.

The areas where I detect had heavy coal mining. These tags are miners tags used to track their loads, bushels, etc.

Thx! A foot of snow is tough… we only have an inch or two in W PA.

Gotcha. They are all 3 digits it looks. Same, the area I discovered in was bayou Bank along trade dock. Figured it for loads of sort but didn't know "what" . But can now see it could be of variety. Bearing on the locale. Thanks for the info. Happy hunting.

That half cent is actually an 1808, and better still, it looks like the 8 over 7 variety.

Nice fin

Nice finds!
Maybe 8 over 7. The 3 in 1803 has a flat top portion of the numeral. It’s one of those coins where all the detail is in the delicate patina.
