I just finished going over my year end finds and it was a banner year. Most Indians I ever found, 6 shy of a complete set including all the fatties. Most silver for the year in a long time. Might be my best, but I didn't keep count 35 years ago when there was lots of silver in the ground. Turns out it's also my best year for seated coinage with 10 seated dimes. Most of the seated dimes and Indians came from the same hunted out park :) Also got my oldest silver with a 1759 pistareen. Although my coppers count was down, I got a couple of my nicest large cents and my oldest copper, a King William from the 1690's.

Enjoy the pics and happy hunting!

Out with some of my detecting buddies which makes this hobby a whole lot more fun. I have a lot more stuff to photograph which I hope to add when I get a chance, but this gives you a good idea of my coin finds. It was a great year. Happy Hunting!

Very nice detail on some of those.

Hope you have an even better 2017.

You Must have one heck of a spot to swing! Great job :icon_thumright:

Great finds there! Yes, going out with a fellow m/d is always better than going solo. Congrats!

Sweet set of finds! May 2017 bring more!

Pretty weak Year man. I really hope you have a better year in 2017.

Actually it'll be hard to beat. Congrats!!

Congrats on an awesome year!! So many impressive finds, my favorite is the 1759 Pistareen, that coin is in great condition! We've had some great club hunts this year and more cool hunts in NYC. Hopefully you'll complete the Indian set in 2017. Hey who's that guy in the rust color jacket? LOL!

Congratulations on an over the top year.

Not only a ton of great finds, but the quality!!!.....
That is a solid collection.... got me all jealous and stuff.

Good Lord, what a great pile of finds! The silver count is impressive--and some of the Beautiful coins you dug are great--that late date Seated Dime is an eye popper--and those LARGE CENTS! Goodness! Finding an uncut Pistareen is really great, and that coin is a looker too. Nice pile of copper, silver, and some gold too! Wow.

Congrats,

Buck

I need to get out out this hobby, ashamed to post my finds after seeing this and a few others. Lol
Those finds are unreal, only in my dreams!!
Congrats!!

Most of the Indians, silver including seated and the 2 cent pieces came out of one park that's been detected for 40 years. Every time I go there I run into others swinging detectors.

It will be hard to beat. That's why I'm heading out in about 10 minutes to work another "hunted out" spot.

Your coin count is remarkable

I was surprised with the count myself, especially when I counted up the Indians and realized I had broken 200. Might also be my best silver year.

I love finding Spanish silver and that one knocked me over. I remember texting you a photo and you texted back a photo of a 1776 Machin's Mills piece you had just dug. Fun year.

I'm surprised I didn't run into you Kevin. You can follow me around anytime. You know the spots.

Thanks Dave. I was impressed myself with the 2 large cents and the 1891 Seated Dime. They don't usually come out of the ground like that.

Every once in a while you have a great day. I had a great year that included a lot of great days. Along side the quantity I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of some of these pieces. Nicest large cents I've found in 35+ years detecting. Had one day I pulled a seated dime along with about 19 Indians. Surprised me too.

That's amazing! You guys must have a blast!

Always fun detecting with friends. Nice thing is we all usually pull up some good coins. I love finding great coins, but it's a lot more fun if your buddies are pulling them up too. I usually do better pulling Indians, but there's one guy who always kicks my butt. On the other side of the coin, I usually pull more coppers than he does. It's a lot of fun and a friendly competition.

No you don't. You've come up with some nice finds and I've never found any bust silver. I also happen to have a primo park that even though it's been hunted for 40 years it still produces. I've also been detecting for more than 35 years so there should be some benefit to experience. Last, but not least, I got out detecting A LOT last year. Only way to find stuff is be out there swinging the machine. BTW, if you have a CTX I think it's the best machine out there for pulling old, deep coins. All the guys I detect with including myself are using CTX's. Happy Hunting!

Looks like you guys are partial to using the CTX 3030 :metaldetector:. You have had an awesome 2016. :headbang: Your finds from this year alone pretty much match my finds that took me 3 years to find and collect. great post, great pics, and an outstanding season. Hoping 2017 is kind to you.
