2015 started out great for me in the spring. Then came about 4 straight months of working 7 days a week in Vt. So I lost a lot of time. But I managed a few good ones. The spoons are by far my favorite recovery this season. They are for sure the rarest thing I've ever dug and likely ever will dig.

I dug 11 shoe buckles this past year. Two really stand out to me. One is a complete single chape from the 1600s I love this buckle
image.jpg
The other is an openeork frame with a huge arch. It's just a unique buckle unlike any I've found or seen

This Rev War era sling buckle is another of my favorites. I had no clue what it was when I dug it
image.jpg
I dug a few decent coins as well. The 1772 half real that was converted to a Cufflink is my favorite
image.jpg
This 1802 Real I love the look of. Detail is strong and the toning is nice
image.jpg
I found a couple other Spanish but nothing very attractive. This Mass cent with the hand scalloped edge is a Ryder 11-C 65-124 known

Not sure why I like this copper so much but it's diffefent and has decent detail

I hope this is a special year for all. Mark my words there's going to be some killer finds posted. I am going to work as hard as possible to make this the BEST season so far. I guess that's not saying much considering it will only be my 3rd full one. But anyway........88888888

Those spoons certainly make a person think!

yeah you still have three more rookie years to go. :)

My 2nd year was my best in 15, so it's very possible your 3rd could be the one!

Congrats on your finds from this year Abe! :occasion14:
Imagine what you might've if you hadn't had to work in Vermont this past year. :icon_scratch:

Best of luck to you in the spring buddy,
Dave

8 out of 8, that's perfect score!
100% great finds!
I like the French copper! Of course, anything out of the ordinary piques my interest and that one sure does!

Very well done, your year has started off in fine style already, continued success !

I know you didn't get another tree coin, but you sure made some great recoveries last year. Those spoons are the bomb, and that Mass, cent is cool as heck too. Can't wait to see what you get into this year.

Impressive finds Abe, love the spoons and the scalloped Mass Copper I've never seen one before! What an Awesome Hobby we share, i love the Historic significance of the Treasures we recover in this fascinating hobby. Congrats buddy!

Congrats on those beauties Abe! Good luck this year!

Thanks all. This year has started out great so I hope it's the best yet. Those spoons melted my brain as well GW. I never got back there and that site haunts me. I'm dying to get there and find the other 17th century treasures. This place has some crazy potential. I've just got to get my butt back in the spring. I WILL do that

Those are some great finds, keep it up!

(That is an eight word sentence up above!)

Testing that may be what gave me all the good luck so far in 2016. Thanks bro 8-)

Dang I must have missed this post! Absolutely phenomenal stuff. The spoons are beauties and between the condition and age thise are once in a lifetime finds. I hope that's not the case though....

I'm glad to see that mass copper again. I was so jealous of that thing when you first posted it, and now I am again. The rest is awesome as well. What a year and you hardly hunted! Lol

Yeah well... you may have found some really awesome stuff...
BUT... ! ! !
I have your tree coin beat...

MY tree coin is in WAY better condition... AND... mine is also "special"...

Mine has "extra sideways letters".

:P

And an awesome counter stamp to boot!

I think it's Middle English: "Cometh On Pay Ye"

I knew that lettering would be identified...

And I thought it meant...

C = coin
O = of
P = pheasant
Y = yodelers

:P
