so last night i opened up my box of nickels and there was a roll short by about a dollar so i opened it up and out popped a 1906 v-nickel.
next roll i opened had a 1950-d jefferson nickel.
totals:
1906 V nickel
1950-D nickel
1955-P nickel
2004-S proof nickel
and thirty misc. pre-1960 nickels

good luck with your hunts

That's a great box of nickels even with one roll being short. That was a mwr that was only half filled in a sealed box? That seems so odd but at least u were rewarded with a V nickel for the short roll....just too bad u had to pay a dollar to get it. It almost seems as though u were being charged a dollar to get it lol. Ive been kinda lucky and found a couple of really nice '50D's myself the past couple of yrs but still no V yet for me. Maybe this year though.

So what condition were the V and '50D in? can u post a pic?

customer wrapped
the v nickel you could read everything but the i in liberty
and the 50 d is ok still has some mint luster i can post pics later

That seems odd that a bank would be selling cwrs that were 50% short. But finding a nice '50D and a V nic with almost full Liberty are both great finds. Makes me eager to increase my nickel hunting this year.

Look forward to seeing the pics.
