2012 nickels BU keep or dump

i went through a box of nickels and found about 20 rolls of 2012 P BU, should i keep them or dump them

I woudnt bother with eBay, after all the fees, packaging, you will only be making less then a dollar, then that dollar gets spent on gas to the post office. Unless you have a lot of bubble wrap and envelpes that the coins could fit in, and you can walk to the post office, but if not its just not worth it.

Dump those ****ers. They are worth their melt value.

And, their melt value is actually now less than face value (today anyway):

1. Calculate 75% copper value :
(3.4805 × .00220462262 × 5.00 × .75) = $0.0287739


2. Calculate 25% nickel value :
(7.6015 × .00220462262 × 5.00 × .25) = $0.0209476


3. Add the two together :
$0.0287739 + $0.0209476 = $0.0497215

$0.0497215 is the melt value for the 1946-2012 nickel on May 23, 2012.

Do what you'd like with them. No harm in saving a few, no harm in dumping them all.

If you can find a sucker on Ebay to buy that is one thing, otherwise you will be waiting a very long time for them to be worth anything more than face (>30yrs). If you are looking for a $2 investment, I would suggest silver dimes.
