2011 dimes, agggggh

Bought three brinks boxes of dimes today and all were full of useless 2011 dimes. Anyone else getting hit like this. Two different banks.

That stinks. Maybe you can sell a couple of rolls online as BU unsearched rolls for those folks who like to find Ms-68 and higher coins.
It justs means that the dimes in circulation aren't making it back fast enough to the coin rolling machine and that Brinks had to order from the Fed to meet its orders.

Worthless??? Full boxes are selling on eBay for $299 - $320. I would put them up ASAP! It would take finding about 16 silvers in one box to make that kind of profit - granted you will pay closing fees, but that is still a nice profit.

I haven't searched a box o dimes in over a year, I do customer rolled. I can sympathise though. Too bad when that happens, unless you can make a profit somehow.

No sign of 2011's in western PA as of yet, but I do remember when the dreaded 2010's hit and my box finds ground to a halt. It was as though they made a billion 2010's and released them all at the same time.

It took me a month or two of wading through many solid 2010 boxes before things returned to normal.

I will also add that I have been avoiding Brinks and String dime boxes like the plague because they have proven to be repeatedly skunky. Brinks nickel boxes are still good to me.

For some reason, I have had more success when I get $200 in rolled dimes at a time (both customer-wrapped and shell-wrap).

I'm new to dime hunting and asked for $150 worth at a bank the other day. The teller ripped into a box of dimes and gave me fed wrapped rolls. I didn't realize til I got home with them that they weren't what I wanted...

Aren't fed wrapped rolls different from Brinks and CWI?

I stopped at a Woodforest yesterday and got 10 rolls of NF Strings. Didn't look at them until I got home, and when I opened the 1st I realized that they were all 2011-d. 9 more rolls, unopened...I considered selling them on Ebay, but the fees plus the hassle of perhaps 9 different orders made me decide that the few dollars I'd make just weren't worth it. As it is, I spend enough time on CRHing, but I'd rather just go to banks to pick up or dump, and do my searching quickly and that's it.

So true. After I looked at the fees charged by eBay and PayPal, I decided it just wasn't worth the hassle. I'll let the listing run for a week or so but I won't ever do that again. I lost money on the shipping because the Priority Mail rates went up since the last time I used it. I added delivery confirmation at my expense so I'll know when they get the package delivered. I decided I wasn't going to lose another $1.80 to add insurance at my expense though.
