2010 - my notable finds

Hello,

As the snow as just settled in and the season is now over, I just wanted to share with you some of my best finds this summer. I didn’t get to go out as much as I wanted, but I still managed to find my first cannonball, my oldest coin and plenty of nice regiment buttons.

I found many coins, plenty of blanks, but here are my favorites (not the prettiest but the most interesting):

My oldest, a 1775 half-penny

Un soldo 1777 or 1779

A 1861 half-dime ( My second in 2 years)

My cannonball and a variety of calibers I found this year

I found plenty of buttons, but here is a selection of british regimental buttons I found

7th regiment of foot

17th regiment of foot

37th regiment of foot - pewter

39th regiment of foot

62nd regiment of foot

Royal artillery

Possibly a French military button

My objective for next year : older coins (maybe a 1700’s silver), a larger cannonball, and a nice badge.

That is a year that you should be very proud of. The regimental buttons solidified your season. Canada is known for producing Rev. war buttons and some unique Colonial coinage.
