Although not a great year in term of quantity, I did make a few finds that were decent in terms of quality. The heavy snows lasted through March this year. Usually I can get several hunts in during during the first three months of the year. This year I made my annual trip to Texas during the first week of March. That hunt will start my picture show with subsequent pictures in the order the relics were found through the year. This year I hunted in Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.

The 1797 dime was the highlight of the year. Here is the original post, my first post on T-Net.

if all you found this year was that draped bust silver, it would be an outstanding year.
the rest, which is also really sweet, is just icing on the cake.

You know, that's the way I'm looking at this year too ;D Thanks Dwayne!

As I have observed on Tnet during the year Steve, you have made some extraordinary historic recoveries. Preserve and display them well and good luck in 2011, Quindy.

Ahhh, the meteorite. I made a post on the Meteorite forum but got little response. I just got the rock back from my brother who polished a face on it and I made a post today on the Gem/Mineral forum. I may have to get it analyzed at a lab.

With that early-American silver and the King George coppers, I would agree that 2010 was a superb year for you. :headbang: I would rather find a few nice coins and relics a year instead of a handful of copper slugs. I think 2011 will bring you some more Colonial winners. Just keep your coil low, your digger ready, and your passion high and it will all fall in the right Colonial spot. :headbang:

Kirk :hello:

amazing finds!! thank you for sharing!

Nice display, 1st pic.
Love the cut Silvers. Congrats on those.
Lots of buttons, without question, a good yesr.

Rick

You had a great year Steve. That DB silver would make a great year just in itself. Best of luck in 2011.

Actually it was a 1797 dime. I modified the post to clarify that.

That bust silver will be one of the only on this 2010 forum, great year Steve

1797 dime, cut silvers, and various Colonials: What a year! Steve, your 2011 season is going to be filled with more of everything on the menu! :headbang:

some amazing finds man! awesome!

Without a doubt the 1797 dime made your year, I like the Harrison token also. Good luck in 2011.

Don

Thanks everyone for the nice replies. I should be able to do better in 2011 if I make the effort to get out more often. I only have 14 hunts in my 2010 hunt photo folder, and that includes 2 DIV hunts. Of course there were those days I got skunked and there was nothing picture worthy.

Botton line is, with this hobby you get out of it what you put into into it!

Best of luck to everyone on T-NET in 2011
