It is that time of the year again. I wanted to share some of my finds with all of you from this great 2009 season. KKC had one of our best years.

I hope you all enjoy my finds. I had one heck of a blast digging up coppers and relics from the Colonial to early American past. The Pennsylvania fields were littered with coppers this year. :hello2:

2009:
Favorite Colonial: Connecticut copper
Favorite Large cent: 1794 Liberty Cap
Favorite Half cent: 1804 Draped Bust
Favorite Colonial silver: 1786 Spanish 2 Reales
Favorite Relic: Shoe buckle chape

I hope 2010 is half as good! :icon_thumleft:

Keep the passion high! :headbang:

Kirk

Re: 2009 Pennsylvania Coppers, Silvers, and Relics

Bro, it looks like the scanner did the job for now. You still need to get yourself a nice camera. You must! :hello2:

That Conn. copper is sweet, the 1786-er is sweeter, the 1746-er is sweetier, and your relics are just OK. :laughing9: :laughing9: It was definitely a year to remember, brother Kirk! :hello:

Re: 2009 Pennsylvania Coppers, Silvers, and Relics

You hit plenty enough to call it a good year! That's a great year for Spanish if you ask me.

Re: 2009 Pennsylvania Coppers, Silvers, and Relics

20 coppers and a pile of Spanish? That's a great year--especially on the Spanish. That buckle in your photo (the oval one) looks like a sling buckle. :o And in one piece, I think that's a First Rate find.

Any info on that gilded two-piece button with the anchors on it?

Cheers,

Buck

Buck, the oval buckle is a brass knee buckle.

The gilt anchor button is a "Red Star Line" button. It started in 1872 and last ran in 1934. Van Courts book on Maritime uniform buttons says the original route was between Antwerp (Belgia),Falmouth, and Philadelphia. In 1882, it opened a New York-Antwerp route.

Re: 2009 Pennsylvania Coppers, Silvers, and Relics

Kirk, you had a year of some real good finds and I think the top 4 favorites would have made a successful year just in finding them! Congrats on a great 09 and may 2010 be just as good if not better of course!
