2007 Silver Totals - should we keep track of silver found?

Folks,
I am debating whether to run a thread for keeping track of everyone's 2007 silver finds or not. What's your opinion? Do you want to post your totals in 2007 and have me keep a running total, or would it be a better idea not to? Do you folks find the information useful?

I plan to abide by the group's decision (unless unforseen circumstances intervene, of course).

Thanks in advance for your input.
For those who checked, "What's CRH?" - it's coin roll hunting. 8)

I think it's a good idea if done correctly.

Maybe have everyone post their totals at the end of each month in it's own post and have one post to update the totals in. I know that with the current one I haven't done any updates of my silver totals because the post just got too big to read through.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

Hi Brian,
I keep the updated totals in the very first message of the post.... so you don't have to read through the whole thing if you don't want to! Just give me your updates at the very end. ;D

Haha, but I hate a post just sitting there with 100 responses and knowing that I haven't read through it!

I personally think it is a good idea and would like to see it continue. I have more finds than I posted this year because I was just too lazy to post some of them. I will try to be more diligent in 2007.

I think it would be great if the first post kept track of the totals and each member made only one response with there totals updating them in that post as time went by. That way at the end of the year the grand total will be at the top and each members totals below. No chit-chat just totals.

I suggest a uniform heading for everyone to use. Just add a date.

For example "silver found, 12-16"

Although the direction the group wants to go is starting to be clear, I'm still looking for votes... especially your vote if you haven't voted yet.
Thanks,
Bob

I think we should do it but ultimately it is up to you unless someone else wants to take the task on. The format for the post should also be up to you since you are the one that has to deal with it.

One suggestion that I have is perhaps everyone should limit there posts to monthly totals. It would be easier for you to keep track of. Also I think that all chit chat replies that are not posting finds should not be allowed.

Also I think that indirect silver does not have a place in this category since it was not pulled directly from circulation. The point is (to me at least) to see how much silver is being removed from circulation.

These are just my thoughts on the subject take them or leave them you won't hurt my feelings either way ;).

Thanks for all the hard work that you have put in on this.

Im in agreeance with Theman, and some others.

I agree with the "end of the month" totals for postings. This would be less clutter, as
there would be much less posts, and each posted silver amount found, would be greater...

Not as many "2 90% 7 40% today" And then more the next day and so on.

By all means, these daily finds should be posted on the Roll Hunting forum for all to enjoy, with
photos.... just as a normal posting. For your accumulative results post though... the monthly
report seems perfect !

I also agree to keep it for "found in circulation" results. Thats the whole point :)

Keep up the good work. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the results, its amazing ! Thanks again.

PS. The only other thing not brought up yet as a reason "not" to, would be.... all the people currently NOT
into this, and seeing all the booty being hoarded, would almost have to be "unconscious" to not have
an interest in doing this also ! We actually are killing our own prosperity.... kinda :)

I say go for it and keep track of the silver totals for 2007,it's interesting!

Monthly totals are a very good idea!

Anyone that has logged onto TNET already knows about CRH by now, so let everyone enjoy this hobby. :)

As for the chit chat, I'm a female and that's something I do best! ;) So if I feel like making a comment here and there I'm going to. Just try to stop a woman from letting her voice be heard. ROFL ;D

GREAT IDEA HOBBOB!!!

I am all for this, i will happily tell you my totals every month or so to add to the count! Maybe everymonth is a little bit of a long time to go though? 2 weeks might be better? Or else people may begin to forget their results.... But, dont listen to me, either time span is fine! AGAIN, GREAT IDEA!!!

I'd like to see everyone post each previous month's totals within the first 10 days of every month. Then about the middle of the month, HobBob could give us the totals. I also think it should be strictly coins removed from circulation.

That's my 2 cents.

I don't really care how we keep track as long as everyone is in agreement. I am definitely going to do alot of half searching this year. Going to save the 90% and possibly sell the 40% to help send my daughter to college. Everyone have a Happy New Year!
