Hi all, Working on getting better at pictures. I wanted this to be in the best finds section because I feal it is rare to find any type of cache. This one is not your ordinary hoard of coins. I am proud to own these artifacts and wish I knew the real story behind it all.

For those of you who are new to the forum and never saw this feal free to ask me any questions you like. I would have to write another very long story again to explain the find. It's burried somewhere in the today's find's section of the forum if you would like to read up on it.

Thanks for looking Jeremy

VERY NICE JER.

Congrats !

Jeff

I am a newbie and your cache find just blows me away! I am seeing more and more, what other find possibilities are out there waiting for us and calling out FIND ME! FIND ME! It's great that we can rescue these lost items from times past but it sure would be nice if the past owner would have left a note on who, when and why these items were buried. SO COOL!

Gosh, this is an interesting cache, indeed. The first thing that struck me, was that this was the "haul" from a small robbery. Or a robbery, where even the personal items of the witnesses were taken. Tricky things, personal items. If you are out in the middle of nowhere, just how do you turn them into cash?

Neat find.

I think that this hits the nail on the head. It certainly does look like the possesions of a thief. Being an ex - cop, it reminds me of the modern day collections of items such as mobiles, cameras etc that I have found in the possesion of petty crims. What a fantastic find. You must have been thrilled to bits with it. It will make a great talking piece at home.
Thanks for posting it - it makes me want to grab the MD and go out now.

Cool stuff Jer,

cleaned up nice!

Thanks for "backing me up," ADY, about my loot theory with this great cache. I've never been in law enforcement, but a lot of these things together were very suspicious--especially the multiple watches. The piece that bothers me is the spoon. That seems as though it "doesn't fit with the others," like one of those IQ puzzles. Possibly just lifted from a random home invasion. Better that than a "trophy."
Cheers

Hi guys and thanks for all the replies. I found this cache near some old walls that were built during WW1. What I think I have found is some type of cache left by the workers of this wall. All the items are of personal belongings. These are the type of items people would have on them at the time. I think it was then sealed up placed under a rock for someone to find some day. The area is next to a old park and they knew that someone one day would find it. The way it was sealed up someone had it all protected in a manner as if it were going to be there for a long time.

If you want to find the full story of this cache look on page 17 mid way through the page and you will see it.

I hope this is one of more that I will find throughout my treasure hunting life. The excitement of this find is not replaceable. I will always remember prying it open and seeing the first glimpse of something valueable.

Hope to see others make a cache find. It's something that every detectorist needs to experience. Now I'm just waiting for that gold coin.

Thanks for looking Jeremy

When you found it, was it wrapped up nice and neat? Some critter might have just liked shiny stuff and made a collection of it over the years.
Of course, it could have been someone who was doing some kind of pawn business also.

Hi everyone, Not trying to boast or anything like that. This was my first W&E appearance and I am very proud of it. It was also my first real cache find.

Little did I know about a year ago I was going to be included in the 2005 best finds issue. It's a honor for me for W&E to recognize me. I know not everyone reads the mag or has a subscription.

So Here is a pic of the brief story. I also got to see some of the other great treasure hunters finds on here who lurk this forum. I wanted to say congrats to you all also. Pretty cool seeing your self next to your net buddies stuff.

It won't be my last appearance in there mag. I am doing more stories for them also. I work hard at this hobby and it was very rewarding to see it in a mag. People I haven't talked with in years have been emailing me.

I'm only 24 so there's alot of good years to come. It is not simple in todays world to find treasure anymore. At least at a consistent rate. It takes work and even I get down and frustrated at times. But that's when I am at my best. It gets me in the search mode to come up with another.

Thanks for all the support. If it weren't for this web site I wouldn't be in the mag at all. They really will contact you also.

HH Jer
